Palo Municipal Councilor and SB Committee Chair on Social Services Mr, Felipe Ygrubay,Jr. delivered a keynote message on behalf of Palo Municipal Mayor Frances Ann Petilla. He mentioned that the law was passed to uplift the lives of the less fortunate Filipinos and stressed that some say it is impossible to fight poverty, so if we can’t stop it at least we mitigate it.
“This is the right time, the right platform to alleviate poverty in our region”; a resounding comment from the participants of the Regional Consultation on the Magna Carta of the Poor-Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) last October 25-26, 2019 in Provincial Complex, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.
October 29, 2019 ---- Mr. Ronnie Roa and Pepe Tugonon of barangay in action DYLR Lungsoranon Radio Philippines had a phone patch interview with Mr. Dario Cubelo from the National Anti-Poverty Commission , Office of the Head Executive Assistant regarding the Regional Consultation on the Formulation of the the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No.11291 or the Magna Carta of Poor.
Dr. Neneth Q. Pador, Iloilo Provincial Government Department Head for Social Welfare and Development Office gave a remarks on behalf of Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. Dr. Pador welcomed the delegates with an affirmation of the continued support of the PLGU in the programs and initiatives for poverty reduction in the country.
The meeting was attended by dignitaries and Ministers from China and other Countries, also present in the meeting were the Heads and representatives of the UN Bodies and Organizations.

“The low interest rates of our home loans make home ownership within reach of our members, so much so that the availment of our home loans has grown tremendously. And for us to continue financing the growth in home loans of our members under such low rates, there is a need to increase our members’ P100 monthly savings,” Eduardo D. del Rosario, chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) and Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees, said in a statement.
Sec. Felongco emphasized that Talipao has been chosen as one of the LGU beneficiaries because it is one of the LGUs who garnered the Seal of Good Local Governance award in the island of Mindanao. He also expressed his optimism that what we are doing today are geared towards reducing poverty in the country and it is contributory to the realization of the country’s AmBisyon Natin 2040 which is to transform the Philippines into a progressive middle class by 2040.
Secretary Atty. Noel K Felongco is one of the speakers in the "2019 Global Poverty Reduction and Development Forum" event hosted by the Chinese Government. Secretary Felongco presented NAPC's innovative 5 year development plan (Sambayanihan Serbisyong Sambayanan) and other poverty reduction policies, programs and activities of the Philippine Government.

National Week For Overcoming Extreme Poverty 2019
The NSA aims to formulate new sets of sectoral agendas and electing the composition of the sectoral councils for the 14 basic sectors. A press conference was conducted at Clark, Pampanga attended by Secretary/Lead Convenor Noel K. Felongco together with the Vice Chairperson for the Basic Sectors Ruperto B. Aleroza, as well as other representatives from the 14 basic sectors.
This is being led by Head Executive Assistant/Chief-of-Staff Elias Labro, Jr. under the directives of Secretary Noel Felongco. The participants are IP Ethno-linguistic groups that helped in developing the Village Eco-Governance Development Framework of NAPC. The PAGCOR-funded PRRD Prototype Project in Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya will be a trading center for organic farming amounting to Php 3M. The beneficiaries for this prototype poverty reduction project will be the Kayapa Organic Practitioners Association.
Align to the realization of the National Anti-Poverty Commission's (NAPC) five-year plan under the Sambayanihan Serbisyong Sambayanan (3S), a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed last Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Cityhall in Cebu City by Secretary Noel K. Felongco and Mayor Edgardo C. Labella.
The Integrated Community Food Production (ICFP) Program is one of the programs included in the government’s Bottom-Up Budgeting menu that seeks to ensure nutritious food readily available among families even in times of disasters or abnormal times,nationwide. Ms. Perigine Cayadong, DMO V from NAPC- LACMS presented the milestones and early wins of the ICFP Program.
During the second day of the Integrated Community Food Production (ICFP) Program National Assessment and Planning, the participating partner LGUs have presented their best practices and strategies in the implementation of the program as well as the issues they have encountered and their corresponding solutions.
