PAGCOR, NAPC and participating LGUs ink an agreement on PRRD Sambarangayan

On the last day of the PAGCOR-NAPC initiated Poverty Reduction through Rural Development Inter-Agency Workshop, participating LGUs from Majayjay Laguna, Cebu City, Calbayog City Samar, Valladolid Negros Occidental, Talipao Lanao del Norte and Kauswagan Sulu have presented their accomplished prototype project proposals aiming to make poverty reduction efforts in their areas sustainable.

After the presentations, the ways forward were given by NAPC Head Executive Assistance/ Chief-of-Staff Elias Labro, Jr., who gladly informed everyone that the target outputs for the workshop were met which include: leveling-off on the Village Eco-Governance Development Framework or Sambarangayan as well as on NAPC’s Sambayanihan Serbisyong Sambayanan or the 5-year development plan and the concept design anchored on Human Development Poverty Reduction Cluster Roadmap.

He also urged every participating LGUs to agree on and follow the fund management mechanism that will be developed to ensure everyone’s accountability and liability for the anti-poverty projects.

Then, it was followed by a symbolic agreement signing among PAGCOR, NAPC and beneficiary LGUs which was witnessed by the representatives from national government agencies.

The workshop concluded with a message from Valladolid Mayor Enrique Miravalles who encouraged the participating LGUs and NGAs to be part of the solution and to work hand in hand in fighting the problem on poverty.
