The National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) organized an inter-agency meeting to address the peace and order concerns of the residents from Sitio Kay-Ibon

NAPC-Office of the Secretary Conference Room this September 17.

The meeting served as a venue for consultation and dialogue between the National Government Agencies and key stakeholders about the peace and order situation in the ancestral land claimed by the Indigenous People and the affected non-IP members of the community following the reported incidents of harassment and violence last March.

The coordination meeting was attended by representatives from the National Commission for Indigenous People (NCIP), Commission on Human Rights (CHR), and Philippine National Police (PNP) wherein they agreed to visit the said area and continuously monitor the case. This is in accordance to the agency’s mandate to strengthen partnerships between the national government and the 14 basic sectors.

Moreover, the Philippine National Police encouraged the concerned residents to report any form of harassment so that they can provide immediate assistance if necessary.
