NAPC holds ICFP National Assessment and Planning to ensure its sustainability

The National Anti-Poverty Commission conducts a 2-day National Assessment and Planning Meeting at Axiaa Hotel, Quezon City. Around 70 ICFP beneficiary LGUs have attended the activity.

The Integrated Community Food Production (ICFP) Program is one of the programs included in the government’s Bottom-Up Budgeting menu that seeks to ensure nutritious food readily available among families even in times of disasters or abnormal times,nationwide.

Ms. Perigine Cayadong, DMO V from NAPC- LACMS presented the milestones and early wins of the ICFP Program.

Then, HEA Elias Labro, Jr. stressed that with the passage of the Magna Carta of the Poor, NAPC will be serious in monitoring the development plans and the allocation of the poverty reduction funds of the LGUs.

Mr. Fernando Cao, Research and Development Head introduced the Sambayanihan, Serbisyong Sambayanan or 3S, which is the banner program of NAPC.

Then, to identify the best practices and issues encountered by the participating LGUs, a workshop was conducted. The observations and recommendations of the beneficiary LGUs will guide the agency in ensuring the sustainability of the said program.

The program concluded with a message from DA Undersecretary for Policy and Planning Mr. Rodolfo V. Vicerra, wherein he said that the long-term goals of the department are to increase productivity of commodities, to increase food security and to produce new batch of prosperous farmers and fisherfolk.
