Align to the realization of the National Anti-Poverty Commission's (NAPC) five-year plan under the Sambayanihan Serbisyong Sambayanan (3S), a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed last Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Cityhall in Cebu City by Secretary Noel K. Felongco and Mayor Edgardo C. Labella.
Under the MOA, NAPC through the funding of the Philippine Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) will appropriate three (3) million peso prototype project on Agricultural Trading Post wherein rural farmers, fisherfolks, and even urban poor will benefit for this program. Secretary Felongco explained further during the presscon interview that the one (1) million peso will be allocated to the construction of physical infrastructure and equipment, another one (1) million peso will be for the provision of vehicle, and lastly the remaining one (1) million peso will be for the capital infusion in conducting livelihood in the area.
On the otherhand, Mayor Labella was so grateful in accepting the said project and signified full cooperaton in NAPC's poverty reduction measures through social reforms and capacity building.
The agreement was sealed with a strong bond of handshake between the two leaders.
